E3 2013 – Despicable Me: Minion Rush

despicable_me_2_minions-HDMobile developer, Gameloft, is showing off their new endless runner based on the upcoming movie Despicable Me 2. Despicable Me: Minion Rush bring the minions to the forefront as they vie to be the minion of the year.

“Gru’s loyal, yellow, gibberish-speaking Minions are ready for their toughest challenge in Despicable Me: Minion Rush. Play as a Minion and compete with others in hilarious, fast-paced challenges in order to impress your boss, (former?) super-villain Gru! Jump, fly, dodge obstacles, collect bananas, be mischievous, and defeat villains to earn the title of Minion of the Year!”

Minion Rush brings the game play you’d expect from an endless runner while changing things up a little. At times, the game will change perspective, giving you new challenges as you try to run away from objects rather than avoid them. You will also run into side-scrolling and top down segments just to change things up a little. Included in Minion Rush are new environments and randomly generated levels to keep the game fresh.

Minion Rush is a free to play title that uses micro-transactions to earn bonuses and different costumes for your Minions (which have bonuses themselves). As with many free to play games, you would be able to gain bonuses without spending money, you would just get them faster.

Minion Rush is one of those games I play whenever I’m in a queue or waiting for the bus and I actually enjoyed playing it.

It’s another endless runner and yet the cool visuals plus the humor keep me playing it. It features secret areas, achievements and even codes to unlock:
