Here’s another Japanese import for you guys!
Just in time for the movie’s release, Kotobukiya brings you a sweet ass Iron Man ARTFX Statue! This time it’s the Iron Man Mark 42. You know, the Iron Man armor he’ll use in the next movie? Boy o boy, is this thing a beauty.
Of course I haven’t seen the movie, but I can only assume that the Mark 42 is very similar to, if not the equivalent to, the Bleeding Edge Armor (model 37 in the comics) used in the comics from June 2010 to July 2012. The color scheme is a little flipped, but it feels very similar.
As you can see, this statue comes with LED light-up eyes and Arc Reactor with three settings (Off, Continuous on, and triggered by the built-in sound detector).
Here are the specs straight from the source:
“Iron Man Mark 42 stands 15 inches tall (1/6th scale) hovering over the lifelike water effect. This pre-painted, snap-fit ARTFX Statue is easy to assemble so you can have your Iron Man on display in no time. Arriving this summer along with the release of the film, the Mark 42 is just the first Iron Man 3 ARTFX statue from Kotobukiya; there are more to follow!”
What’s up with the water though? Is it supposed to be a contrast thing? Why is he fighting over water? It just doesn’t feel right.
